Hello, hello!
My name is Roman Ellis, and I’m a 24-year-old singer-songwriter based in London, Ontario. Originally from beautiful lakeside Norfolk County, Ontario, music has always been my eternal obsession and my deepest passion, even before I knew I wanted to make it my career.
I've been writing songs since I was eight years old, And when I was eighteen I finally found my voice and started performing a few small gigs. I draw a lot of inspiration from a lot of places, but most of all, I admire the lyrical prowess of Arctic Monkeys, Paramore’s electric intensity, Vision Video’s somber allure, and Hot Mulligan’s raw edge.
When I'm not working on music, you can find me furthering my education in copywriting with the amazing Word Tonic, writing one of my many literary projects, working out at the gym, or spending time with my loved ones.
My Education
2023-2024
Audio Post-Production (APR1)
Fanshawe College
Most recently, I've studied the process of audio post-production for film, TV, video games, and music. Notable projects include a Dolby Atmos rendered cover of Dua Lipa's "Don't Start Now" (stereo version below) and a full trailer dub of Stranger Things 4 Volume 2, including a cinematic cover of Echo & the Bunneymen's "Nocturnal Me."
2021-2023
Music Industry Arts (MIA2)
Fanshawe College
In this program, I studied the main facets of the music industry, from music writing and production to recording and live sound engineering, as well as performance, marketing, and social media. Notable projects include various covers, lifts, and projects on which I wrote original lyrics. Two guitar stem projects with original lyrics are below, both of which required me to step out of my comfort zone.
